SIP Bible Study~ Things We Ought to Do.

Hope you enjoy this new Bible study! Its not very long this time, but I hope its a blessing! ~Read: 1 John 4:11~ what ought we to do in this verse? _________________________________ Ask the Lord to show you a way in which you can show love to someone that needs to feel God's love to today! "....We ought to obey God rather than man." Acts 5:29 Read: Acts 20:35~ What ought we to do in this verse? ______________________ We are all weak, and we need to support one another! If our brother is weak in some area spiritually, we need to show support to him, and do our best to help him become stronger, with God's help. If someone is weak physically, and sick, we should show support to them by praying for them, and showing we care. Read Romans 8:26~ We ought to pray, but we sometimes don't know how to pray as we ought. But, the Holy Spirit will help us know how to pray as we ought! Read: Romans 12:3~ What ought we to be in this verse? _________________________________ __________________________________ "Oh, but I am not prideful." you may say, but we all have some pride! And, there is healthy pride, and everyone needs a little healthy pride. But, I shouldn't play my violin in church just to show everyone I play well, or maybe to show them I can play better then someone else. I shouldn't think that I am better then most people because I am a Christian or because I attend church every Sunday. Now, sometimes we may not realize that we are being prideful, I may not be sticking my nose in the air as I play my violin, but in the back of my head, deep down inside, I am playing so others will see how good I am. "Who am I playing for?" Pride can even be just worried what others will think of me, and doing things just so, so that they will think well of me. We need to ask the Lord to help us with pride, I know I need help! Read: Romans 15:1~ What ought we to do in this verse? _______________________________________ We may not consider ourselves strong, but there are ways in which we are stronger then others, and we can help them! ~"So that contrariwise ye ought rather to forgive him, and comfort him, lest perhaps such a one should be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow." 2 Corinthians 2:7 What ought we to do in this verse? ______________________________ _________________________ We should always have an attitude of forgiveness, even when someone hasn't sought our forgiveness! Read: 2 Corinthians 12:11 What ought we to do in this verse? _____________________________________ We should commend each other because it encourages and uplifts! Read: Colossians 4:4 What ought we to do in this verse? _____________________________ ____________________________ Why should our speech be with grace? __________________________ No one wants to talk to someone whose speech doesn't have much grace! "Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren." 1 John 3:16 Because Jesus laid down his life for us, we should be willing to lay down our lives for others, and other Christians. There are so many stories of missionaries and men and women of God that died or put their live sat risk so they could tell other of Jesus. And there still are many people in the world dying and putting their lives at great risk to tell others about Jesus Christ! Wow! Would we be willing to do that? I don't know if I would! But, Jesus laid down his life for us. We may not be called to be missionaries in a foreign life risking country, but, we should still be willing to lay down our lives for the Lord, and even be willing to suffer for the Lord where we are now. There is persecution and trials even in the United States. "Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another." 1 John 4:11 SIP Bible Studies are written for Sisters in Prayer by Mariah C.
