Sometimes,I find myself always asking God for things, praying about things, and then forget to thank Him!
"Lord, I really want to go shopping, and you know how much I wanted to go, and now its snowing!" I whine to the Lord, "Oh please, could you just clear the snow this once? Lord, I really want to go!"
Then, the snow clears and I am able to go. Later, I realize I hadn't thanked the Lord for allowing me to do what I wanted. I happily went on my way shopping, and enjoying myself, and then later I realize, "I didn't thank the Lord for allowing me to go!" and I stop and thank Him.
We often forget in our busyness of life to thank the Lord. Not just thanking him after you have prayed, for giving you what you wanted, but also of things throughout the day that He has done, and things He has given us! While you get dressed in the morning, remember to thank Him for the clothes He has provided....and the money He has provided.... and for giving you such a great Dad that works hard to provide the money....... and it can sometimes go on and on!
One time, last year, a big snow storm was due on the day that we were to go visit my Aunt who lives two hours away. We were really looking forward to this trip, and we had been really praying, and having faith that the Storm would clear. We had packed, and were ready to go, and we ate breakfast while we waited for Dad as he waited for the weather forecast on the radio.
I don't really remember exactly what was said, but there was a conversation going on between the broadcaster and the weather guy. They said something like: "What is going on?"
"Well," said the weather guy,"I really don't know! That storm was supposed to his us, but I don't know!" The radio guys were astounded, but we all let out whoops and shouts of praise to God! "Thank you Lord!" Soon, we were on our way and it didn't snow!
I am working on having a thankful heart, and am working on giving thanks for what the Lord has done. When He answers my prayers, and also for the little things throughout the day!
Keep thanking the Lord!

Wow, Mariah. That is so true. I love that your blog is specifically for thoughts and prayers and not just a blog of entertainment and trivia.
I'm working towards a more focused life and hope it will show as my "trivia" blog becomes more like yours. I've also seen a lack of thankfullness ruin an otherwise good christian life. Thankfullness is so important, especially if happy thoughts aren't coming smoothly.
