Please pray for.....

Vidal & Cathy Perez, missionaries to Guatemala, ask for urgent prayer:

One of the soccer players that received Jesus as his Savior needs your prayers. He has been offered a job at the Academia Maya which is the place where the Mayan languages are preserved and materials are written in the Mayan Languages. He of course would be part of the local office that works with the Tektitek language. His position would be the treasurer. BUT he just shared with Vidal that the president of the Acadamia Maya and the other leaders in the office are planning to go up in the mountains to carry out demonic activity where sacrafices are made and prayers are chanted by a witch doctor. Rodual knows that he can not participate in this as a child of God. He is asking for prayer support as he will put his job on the line next week. He will explain to his boss and fellow workers that he serves GOD and can't participate in the witch doctor activities. He will explain that if they allow him to do his job without participating he will work, if not he can not accept the job offer.

It is very hard to find work in Tectitan. The job will pay well and is considered an honored position. Vidal told him that if God doesn't want him to work there HE will provide other work. THIS is a huge step of faith for Rodual.

PLEASE pray for him this weekend and next week as he talks to his boss. He is also suffering from physical pain that is a big discouragement to him and robs him of sleep. Rodual needs your prayers.

Additional prayer request: We see Christians being persecuted. Not with physical harm, but with words of discouragement from their Catholic neighbors, family members, and friends. Some of the Christians have given up trying to grow spiritual and returned to the Catholic church. Others are staying strong in their faith. Pray for wisdom as we seek to encourage, love, challenge, and discliple the Tektitek believers.
